The poll is somewhat curious because it is asked in such a way as to make God a proper noun - a name - rather than a concept.  However, regardless, the results are impressive.  Effectively there has been very little change in the last 60+ years on this question.  It must drive the most vocal and critical of the atheists out there just batty in irritation.  

It makes me wonder why so many congregations are struggling for life if so many people profess at least some level of belief in God or a god.
