On a Lighter Note...
This first article is just a sad observation on the state our society has come to. Once upon a time it was clear that there was a difference between a toy gun and a real gun, or a toy knife and a real knife. Now, it's all the same. I can only imagine the damage that will be done to this little boy because of overreacting in the name of vigilance as opposed to any conceivable damage that he did to anyone else. What are we being vigilant for, anyways? And if we are not drawing any intelligent distinctions, what use is vigilance in the first place?
And because my mind has been wrapped up in thinking about media and the effect of the media in our lives and the role of the family and school and church in equipping people to consume media intelligently, this site caught my attention. It's kind of a cool little exploration of how films often pay homage to (or rip off) earlier films.
