"Man-Caused Disasters"

Terrorists are so passe.

Homeland Defense Secretary Janet Napolitano no longer wishes to use the term terrorism.  She prefers the term man-made disaster.   She feels that his strikes a different tone than the Bush Administration's overuse of the term terrorism.  The new term appeals to her as less fear-based, and more focused on preparedness.  

Funny, this kind of doublespeak always makes me more afraid, not less.  Fortunately for Napolitano, I'm probably in the minority in that respect.
